Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell was born April 28, 1952. She is an American stage actor, film and television star. Her parts in Dances with Wolves, Stands With A Fist and Passion Fish brought her Academy Award nominations. McDonnell is well-known for her portrayals of First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. McDonnell played Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's show The Closer. She also was a part of Major Crimes, the spin-off series on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
